When it comes to this tasty hummus, you’re only a whir of the food processor away from a delicious, healthy dip that’s perfect for an afternoon snack. Made from fiber rich chickpeas, it’s a great way to satisfy hunger while still getting in a few servings of vegetables. Serve it with a side of veggies like carrots or celery for an extra nutrient kick, or maybe some whole wheat pita as well.

CREAMY HUMMUS DIP

1 1/2 cups cooked, drained chickpeas (from a 15-ounce can)
1/3 cup tahini paste
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, or more to taste
2 small cloves garlic, roughly chopped
3/4 teaspoon sea salt, or more to taste
Approximately 1/4 cup water or reserved chickpea cooking water

In a food processor, blend the chickpeas until smooth clumps form, about 1 minute. Add the tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and salt and blend again until smooth. While the machine continues to run, drizzle in the water, one spoonful at a time, until the desired consistency is reached, which may take more or less than 1/4 cup water. Serve with carrots, celery, other vegetables, or pita wedges.
