solFrom Jan. 10-Feb. 10, 2014, Sol Southwest Kitchen and Tequila Bar will donate $1 from the sale of each Bison Burger and Blueberry Margarita to Louie’s Kids as part of its monthly Kitchen Karma event.

Sol’s owners created Kitchen Karma to give back to the local community. Each month, Sol selects a charity to which it donates $1 from the sale of each featured cocktail and dish.

“This is so timely as we are once more reminding all families that resolutions are meant to be lifestyle changes,” said Louis Yuhasz, founder of Louie’s Kids. “We have been committed to the health and wellness of the greater Charleston community for many years and are proud to partner with a group that believes like we do: Eating out doesn’t have to break your belly bank. We are teaching families every day that if you are planning to make a change, you don’t have to wait until January 1. Do it now. Eating out can be healthy and inexpensive.”

Kitchen KarmaSol serves dishes from scratch using fresh ingredients and uses local food sources as much as possible.

“From the start we wanted to be rooted in the community,” said David Clark, one of the principals of the group that owns Sol. “Being locally owned and operated is just part of it. We wanted to partner with local charities from day one and really become part of the community.”
